Design at UC Infrastructure School Building

Opened in 2011, the building of the School of Design is the work of Chilean architect Sebastián Irarrázaval. It is 1,500 m2, distributed in four floors organized around two courtyards, which generates new spaces to house classrooms, offices, sitting rooms and thematic laboratories. For its construction impregnated MSD, hilam and masterplac were used, as well as the coating of Corten steel, material that was chosen to age with the building and that also make possible the distinction with the spaces of classrooms, offices, patios and circulations, conceived with concrete and light wood inwards.
